Are you busy being busy?
We are living in a super stressful world, where it is expected that you work your butt off to provide for yourself and your family. Many of us has 2 works to make ends meet and we behave more like a robot than a human…
Are you one of them? We all see directors and executives rushing around with a mobile phone glued to their ears, trying to solve as many tasks as possible before the next meeting.
In many respects, we are looking up to these people, thinking that this is the way it is when you are successful, you must be busy all the time to get as much done as possible.
Society has got it backwards.
The truth is that society and most of us has got it totally backwards. The so-called “Successful People” we see running around are actually producing very little or sometimes almost nothing.
Yes, they do many things but not the things that really matter. Sometimes they are well paid for not being productive, although they are rushing and running and totally stressed out.
Now, looking at the really successful people in the world, usually found as a head of a big world corporation. These people are not busy, although they could be the most busy people in the world if they wanted to… Why?
Focus on what matters
The ultra successful people have no more time than us. We all have only 24 hours in one day. The big difference is that they only focus on what matters. They know what the important tasks are that will take them and their company to the next level.
They plan every minute of their time, and when they are working on one task, nothing is allowed to disturb them. All phones are shut off, no answering or checking emails, no disrupting Facebook and Twitter notifications, nothing…
They have total quietness and focus on the task they are doing.
They actually plan time for doing absolutely nothing at all. This is probably the most important time they have every day. As a normal person we would ask, how can doing nothing be productive?
Here is the truth…
Every innovation and major breakthroughs in the world is not created with hard work. It is all ideas coming to us when we are in total peace and quietness, when we are out in the nature or just relaxing.
This is the only time we can tap into a universal source called “Intuition”. When we are connected to our intuition we have access to information that you never have access to when you are busy.
If you really want to progress in life, you must identify what really is important to you. What is the task that will make a difference and take you forward in life?
You must plan your time carefully and never let anything distract you when you are working.
Set aside planned time for emails and Facebook, although this should be the last priority on your list. Emails are at best an organized place for other people’s agenda. Plan quite time to do nothing at all, preferably in nature. Do things that makes you happy and cut out all negativity, including TV.
Never be busy being busy again…
